Zardoyas (Ramiro Zardoya Sanchez)

Cartoonist

Born 1982 in Havana, Cuba. In 2006 he graduated from the Higher Institute of Design (ISDI – Instituto Superior de Diseño Higher Education Institution in Cuba). In 2012, he worked as a professor of basic drawing at ISDI. He was a professor of visual effects at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA Higher Institute of Arts (ISA)/University of the Arts, ISA. Cuban University of the Arts) from 2014 to 2019.

He worked as a designer and illustrator for the monthly newspaper La Calle del Medio and, together with Aristides Hernandez (Ares), directed the humorous application La Ubre for 10 years. Since 2017, he has founded Galería/Estudio La Ubre with headquarters at Tejadillo 108 between Gabana and Aguiar, Old Havana.

His plastic works are in private collections in Turkey, Portugal, USA, Spain, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Brazil, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Finland and France. Also Nina Menocal’s personal collection and the collection of the Pinar del Rio Art Museum (MAPRI).

Independent audiovisual producer under the creative label CUCURUCHO. Organizer of the event “International Animation Days” in Havana (II edition). He was a member of the jury of the International Erotic Humor Show Melaíto: 2010, 2016, 2017.
