Rezai, who was a teacher and professor at the university, has received more than 100 awards at Iranian and international events.
In 2017, he received the second prize at the 34th Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Contest in Turkey.
Shahram Rezai died in a car accident on August 5 , 2019 .
